Fed: Rudd visits school ahead of cabinet meeting

SYDNEY, Feb 17 AAP - Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has made a whistlestop visit to a south-western
Sydney primary school ahead a community cabinet meeting in the area later on Tuesday.

Mr Rudd called into Minto Public School, near Campbelltown, where he mingled with kindergarten
and Year One students inside their classroom.

He helped one young girl with her colouring-in before assisting a boy trace around
shapes on the floor of the room.

"It's good to see you doing all this work with ... shapes and colouring in between
the lines," Mr Rudd told the composite class.

"I could never do that when I was young."

Mr Rudd also discussed with principal Vicky Craze (Craze) what project the school would
like funded under his government's $42 billion stimulus package.

Replacing the demountable library, which he also toured, was on the list.

Mr Rudd left the school after about half an hour to attend a cabinet meeting ahead
of Tuesday night's community cabinet meeting in Campbelltown, where he and other ministers
will field questions from local residents.
