NSW: Search for missing woman hampered by weather

SYDNEY, April 2 AAP - A woman has been missing in rugged bushland south of Sydney for
two days, but authorities have had to postpone their search due to weather conditions.

The doctors' news website 6minutes.com.au reported Dr Margaret Carman, 55, went walking
on a bush trail near her Otford home on Tuesday afternoon.

Dr Carman, who is a GP, was reported missing when she failed to turn up for work at
a northern Wollongong medical centre on Wednesday morning.

More than 40 people including members of the State Emergency Services, Rural Fire Service
and police rescue squad combed the Bulgo Beach area and several bush and coastal tracks
near Dr Carman's home on Thursday in an attempt to find her.

Due to surf conditions, a police spokeswoman said a water search was not able to be undertaken.

The search for Dr Carman had been postponed pending weather conditions, with heavy
rain slowing search efforts, the police spokeswoman said.
