CANBERRA, Aug 13 AAP - The main stories in today's Canberra Times:

Page 1: Authorities begin to recover the bodies of 13 people who died in the Kokoda
Track plane crash. The federal government's emissions trading scheme risks destroying
public willingness to cut emissions by making individual efforts irrelevant, a policy
think tank says. The captain of HMAS Sydney made "almost inexplicable" errors of judgment
which led to the boat's sinking in 1941. A man who died in Canberra's new jail yesterday
pleaded for bail on medical grounds three weeks before his death. The federal government
plans to strengthen Australia's terror laws to give greater powers to police and create
new terrorism offences.
